The fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo kicked off in Changsha, Hunan, on June 12. Over 100 Shandong enterprises showcased their quality products at a dedicated Shandong pavilion at the expo, aiming to boost economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Africa.

The Shandong pavilion displayed 24 types of products, including food, vehicles, textiles, and handicrafts. Shandong also held meetings with representatives from South Africa's Gauteng province and Kenya's Ministry of Trade and Industry, reaching agreements to deepen economic cooperation.
Shandong and Africa enjoy close economic and trade cooperation. In the first five months of 2025, Shandong's trade with Africa exceeded 100 billion yuan ($13.92 billion), ranking third in China and growing by 38.7 percent. Many Shandong enterprises have invested in Africa, developing capacity cooperation, resource exploitation, and major infrastructure projects, which have been highly praised by African governments.
